    Acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) is a malignant disease of the blood and bone marrow. In leukaemia, healthy blood cells are replaced by tumour cells, which can cause fever, fatigue, bruising, blood clotting problems, infections, and other disorders. Usually, in acute leukaemia, symptoms worsen over a short period. In patients, the disease can develop very quickly and requires immediate treatment.

    Symptoms

    Patients with ALL have the following symptoms:

    • pallor;
    • weakness;
    • frequent infectious diseases;
    • enlarged lymph nodes;
    • headaches;
    • increased fatigue;
    • increased body temperature;
    • weight loss;
    • decreased appetite;
    • presence of bruises;
    • the occurrence of bleeding.

    Symptoms depend on the stage of the pathology, the speed of its course, and the general condition of the patient. If you notice the above symptoms, you should immediately come for a consultation with a specialist.

    Diagnostics and treatment of pathology

    The main parameter to which attention is paid is a blood test. It will show the presence and quality of blood cells. Next, the specialist will start examining the bone marrow, by taking a biopsy, conducting an ultrasound of the internal organs, chest X-ray and MRI or CT for a more detailed study of the extent of the spread of metastases.

    Because the disease is quite serious, the doctor will select an individual therapy regimen, taking into account all the patient’s parameters. The treatment used is chemotherapy, targeted treatment, immunotherapy, medication, radiation, bone marrow transplant, blood transfusion and other minimally invasive techniques. After achieving remission, the doctor conducts an additional course of chemotherapy to consolidate the result.
