    Conduct the procedure

    Radiotherapy kills cancer cells, making them difficult to reproduce. The body can independently get rid of damaged cancer cells. The doctor introduces local anaesthesia to the patient. During brachytherapy, a specialist introduces radioactive implants into prostate tissues, each about the size of a sesame grain. The implants will emit radiation for a certain period, after which the radiation will stop. They will remain in prostate tissues for the rest of their lives.

    In terms of effectiveness, brachytherapy is comparable to surgical methods of treatment, however, the process of preparation, treatment and rehabilitation takes much less time, at which the quality of life of the patient does not change at all.

    When the procedure is not carried out

    The doctor does not prescribe brachytherapy in the following cases:

    • Tumor growth;
    • Exceeding the permissible size of education;
    • Tumor growth into the optic nerve;
    • Blood disease;
    • Acute inflammatory diseases;
    • Pregnancy;
    • Severe form of comorbidities.

    Do not neglect visits to an experienced doctor, he will be able to conduct the necessary examination and prescribe the right treatment.

    A qualified person shall designate the following examination:

    • Inspection;
