    Gallbladder Cancer

    Gallbladder Cancer

Gallbladder cancer is a rare disease that develops with gallstone disease, chronic cholecystitis. Among malignant tumours of the gastrointestinal tract, gallbladder cancer is in fifth place. Pathology is found in most cases in women after 50 years. In 70% of cases, gallbladder cancer is represented by adenocarcinoma, in other cases – papillary or squamous cell carcinoma. The average life expectancy of people with this pathology is three months. Unfortunately, at the initial stage, the disease does not manifest itself in any way. This is associated with many cases of late seeking qualified help. However, thanks to an individual approach to each patient, it is possible to achieve a significant improvement in the quality of life of patients and get rid of the tumour.

Our Tel Aviv Medical Clinic employs highly qualified doctors with vast practical experience. We use the latest equipment and unique therapy techniques. Every year our medical staff improves their qualifications in leading medical institutions. The wards of the department are equipped with everything necessary for a comfortable stay of patients.

The surgical method is the main one in the treatment of gallbladder cancer. Doctors perform cholecystectomy – the surgical removal of the gallbladder and surrounding tissues. Removal of regional (neighbouring) lymph nodes is also possible. For surgical interventions on the gallbladder, the laparoscopic method is used, which is safe and less traumatic. In inoperable cases, chemotherapeutic treatment is carried out, and sometimes, according to indications, radiotherapy is prescribed.
