    Minimally invasive bowel resections (laparoscopic)

    Minimally invasive bowel resections (laparoscopic)

The rectum lies deep in the small pelvis and is fixed from all sides – to the lower parts of the spine (sacrum and coccyx), to the organs of the urinary system and the lateral walls of the pelvis. Removal of the rectum is a technically very difficult operation. It is performed correctly only in specialized departments and centres.

The Israeli clinic TAMC is equipped with modern equipment that allows for laparoscopic surgery, which is the safest and most effective for the patient. The staff of our clinic is annually trained in foreign research centres and knows all the latest innovations in therapy. The wards of our department are equipped with everything necessary for a comfortable stay of patients. Thanks to the skill and skills of our specialists, the doctors of the clinic manage to completely rid a person of pathology in 95% of cases.

    Preparing for surgery

At the appointment, the doctor will conduct an examination, ask the patient about the first signs of the disease. Then, to clarify the size and location of the tumour, he will conduct a comprehensive study of the body. It will also help to assess the general condition of a person, the presence of a surgical reaction, as well as features of the development of pathology. The specialist also advises refraining from eating foods that contribute to gas formation. Each surgery is performed under anaesthesia in a special room. The patient must have a card with the data on the previous examination.

    Surgery

Laparoscopic resection is the removal under general anaesthesia of the colon (or part of it) with adjacent lymph nodes through several small incisions in the abdominal cavity. In one of the incisions, the surgeon inserts a laparoscope – an instrument with a miniature camera that allows you to control the progress of the operation. Such surgical intervention is less traumatic than open colectomy, after which the patient recovers faster.

    Rebilitation period

After the surgery, the patient stays in a hospital for some time. The doctor gives recommendations that must be followed at home. After a while, the patient needs to come to an appointment to evaluate the study. Thus, the doctors of our clinic manage to return to an active lifestyle, even for seriously ill patients.
