    Surgery for Appendiceal Cancer

    Surgery for Appendiceal Cancer

Removal of the appendix (appendix) is one of the most common surgical procedures. To date, no worthy alternative to surgical removal of the appendix has been found. The isolated studies on non-operative treatment have remained at the experimental level and have not become widespread.

No matter how aggressive the appendix tumour is, it is in the Israeli TAMC clinic that the patient has a real chance to get rid of it forever. The main trump cards of our medicine: speed, experience, narrow specialization of operating surgeons. It is this combination that gives the best prediction in the fight against an aggressive opponent of appendix cancer. In 85% of cases, it is possible to rid the patient of a malignant disease once and for all.

It is worth noting that earlier detection of pathology plays a huge role in the patient’s recovery rate. Our department is equipped with modern equipment that allows the doctor to use unique methods of therapy and detect the disease on time. Also, the clinic set prices as in a state hospital.

    Preparing for surgery

Before starting the operation, the patient undergoes a complete diagnosis of the body to detect an allergic reaction, the general condition of the person, the stage and size of the tumour, and the features of the development of the disease. The patient also needs to have a card with the data of the previous study. All procedures are performed laparoscopically under anaesthesia.

    Surgery

Surgery for acute appendicitis consists of removing the inflamed appendix. This can be done in several ways: in the traditional open way, laparoscopically through one port, or using NOTES technology (through the vagina or stomach). The latter method is most often used by doctors because it is less traumatic and the patient’s recovery period is shorter.

In laparoscopic appendectomy, the appendix (appendix) is removed through 3 small punctures 5 and 10 mm long, one of which is located in the navel. Through these punctures, a video camera and special instruments are introduced, with which the operation is performed. Throughout the procedure, a team of specialists monitors the patient’s condition on a monitor.

    Rehabilitation

After the surgery, the doctor develops for the patient an individual recovery plan for the whole body, which includes physiotherapy, medication, and diet. After the patient is discharged, the specialist will give the necessary recommendations that must be followed at home.
