At TAMC, we understand how frightening it can be to hear the words bone cancer or sarcoma. That’s why our orthopedic oncology clinic is built around more than just medicine — it’s built around people.

We provide comprehensive care for patients facing a wide range of musculoskeletal cancers — including bone tumors, cartilage tumors, soft tissue sarcomas, and metastatic lesions in the skeleton. Over the years, I’ve treated both common and exceptionally rare cases — from aggressive osteosarcoma in children to complex tumors located deep within the femur or pelvis in adults. Each case is unique, and so is the treatment plan. What’s most important to us is ensuring that patients are seen quickly, receive a clear diagnosis, and have access to the most advanced surgical and non-surgical therapies available today.

Our lead specialist, Dr. Amir Sternheim, is one of Israel’s most experienced orthopedic oncologists. Patients come to us from across the country — and from abroad — for second opinions, personalized treatment plans, and surgery that’s both precise and thoughtful.

We believe in keeping the body whole whenever possible. That means:

    • Advanced limb-sparing surgeries
    • 3D printed implants instead of amputation
    • Cryosurgery (freezing tumors without damaging healthy tissue)
    • Robotic-assisted joint replacement
    • Close coordination with radiotherapy and oncology teams

We offer fast-track access, private consultations without the wait, and a warm, human approach. Our team is here not just to operate, but to support you — through recovery, through decisions, and through everything else that comes with a cancer diagnosis.

And if you’re not sure about your diagnosis or treatment path? That’s okay. We specialize in second opinions for bone cancer, and we’ll take the time to review your imaging, your pathology, and help you understand all your options.

Whether you’re searching for a bone cancer specialist in Tel Aviv, a private orthopedic oncologist, or a place that treats children with bone tumors — we’re here.

Frequently Asked Questions – Answered by Dr. Amir Sternheim

When should I seek a second opinion for bone cancer?

If you’ve been diagnosed with a bone tumor or sarcoma, it’s completely natural to feel overwhelmed. I always tell patients — a second opinion isn’t about doubt, it’s about clarity. We review your scans, biopsy, and full medical history. Sometimes the diagnosis changes. Sometimes the treatment plan does. Either way, it’s your right to be sure. I specialize in second opinions for bone cancer, especially complex or rare cases.

Do you treat children with bone tumors?

Yes, absolutely. Pediatric bone cancers like osteosarcoma or Ewing’s sarcoma require not just medical expertise, but sensitivity and experience with kids. We treat young patients in coordination with pediatric oncologists, and whenever possible, we focus on limb-preserving surgery and gentle, effective treatments.

What options exist for private treatment of bone tumors in Israel?

At TAMC, we offer private care for bone tumors with minimal wait times. That includes diagnostics, advanced surgery, cryotherapy, and post-op recovery. Patients come to us specifically for a fast, focused treatment path, often after long delays in the public system. You can reach out directly — no referral needed.

Do you also treat cartilage tumors or soft tissue sarcomas?

Yes. Many of my patients are referred for chondrosarcoma, fibrous tumors, or sarcomas near joints. These can be tricky — the key is planning and precise surgical technique. We use tools like 3D modeling and, when needed, robotic-assisted surgery.

Is it possible to get robotic joint replacement after tumor removal?

In many cases — yes. Especially in femur tumors or joint-involving lesions, I work with robotic systems like the Stryker Mako for precise, anatomical reconstruction. The goal is always to preserve movement and return to function as quickly as possible.

What if my tumor is in the pelvis or spine?

These areas are more complex, but not untreatable. We coordinate with spine and neuro-oncology experts, and I’ve performed pelvic reconstructions in many patients with good results. Every case is different, so we start with imaging and build the plan step by step.

I’ve heard about cryosurgery — do you offer it?

Yes, I’ve been using cryosurgery for bone tumors for over a decade. It’s especially helpful for benign but aggressive tumors, or as part of a limb-saving approach. It allows us to freeze and destroy the tumor while sparing nearby healthy tissue.

Are you the right doctor for rare bone conditions or inherited syndromes?

That’s part of my work. Whether it’s multiple exostoses, Ollier disease, or bone cancers in genetic syndromes — we know how to approach them. I’ve treated many rare cases that others gave up on. You’re always welcome to consult, even if it’s “just to check.”

Where can I meet you for a private consultation?

I see patients privately at TAMC in Tel Aviv. You can schedule directly through the clinic — no need to go through the hospital or wait for approval. I offer full reviews, second opinions, and full surgical care for bone, cartilage, and soft tissue tumors.

Let’s talk. Let’s plan. Let’s move forward, together.
